After 3 months of construction,the Xiake Ferry pontoon bridge has finished and will be available for use before China Dragon Boat Festival.
Project Profile：
The Xiake Ferry pontoon bridge is 143 meters long and 4 meters wide. It is composed of steel platforms with antiseptic wood decking, imitation wooden railings
are installed on the sides, and imitation wood patterns are painted in scarlet paint, which is integrated with the ancient architectural complexes of the scenic spots
on both sides of the Xiaoshui River.
Background of project:
Xiake Ferry(formerly known as Huangye Ancient Ferry) is one of the five ancient ferries of Lingling County. It was a major traffic route between Lingling County
and Xiang&gui. Today, it is also an essential route for local people and foreign tourists to travel to Liuzong Yuan Scenic Area and Dongshan Scenic Area as well as
a historical and cultural link between Dongshan and Xishan. This plan is designed with the concept of “transportation as the main theme and integrating historical
and cultural background”. The entire pontoon bridge is lying on the “clear and quiet” Xiaoshui River, showing its simple style. After the completion of the new
bridge,it will continue to perform its historical mission, and as always witnessed the storms and vicissitudes of the Lingling County, it will also become the eternal
cultural complex in the hearts of the Lingling people.
The whole pontoon bridge is in a straight line to meet the local people’s travel and tourists’ viewing experience, stopping at the corridor and looking at the
river, a artistic conception of “boat floating on the waves, people playing in the painting” poetic feeling arises spontaneously.
The pontoon bridge adopts the archaize design, and perfectly integrates with the ancient buildings in the scenic area on both sides of xiaoshui river, at the
same time, it better reflects the long history of Xiake Ferry pontoon bridge, preserving a beautiful scenery for the ancient city of Lingling.
